Some time ago I wrote a post about people whose life was unsettled because they had an extreme degree of good manners. In it there was a general who refused to attack the enemy because, he considered it to be too early in the morning, and he knew his opponents would not have had the benefit of breakfast.
Life can mirror art or writing anyway, it seems because I woke up this morning to find that Living Life Backwards is now on sale on Amazon. With an unnerving display of self-interest may I ask you very kindly to buy a copy of the book and then leave a review on Amazon. The reason is simple really: it would make me happy and I’ve found over the years that I quite enjoy being happy. Let us therefore seize the day
or in the UK
A kindle review is also available I now see. Funnily enough I’ve already discovered that if you leave a review on the paperback version, it doesn’t transmit to the kindle version and vice versa which is odd.
I’ll shut up now

If you don’t blow your own trumpet, nobody else will! Off to order my copy now 😀

I’m like you and your general. I’ve had to steel myself to advertise my wares and it don’t ‘alf go against the grain. I’m getting better at it but it still gives me a funny feeling in the pit of the stomach and voices saying ‘Who do you think you are, then’ and ‘what gives you the right…’, and that by so promoting, I’m going to be inundated with knock-backs about my ‘unspeakable’, ‘ill-mannered’ behaviour. I always find myself using phrases like ‘though I say it myself as shouldn’t’! I’m now going straight to the Kindle version. I have a lot that I’ve promised to read and review at the moment but I will review yours at some point..

I am trying to order through Amazon but somehow I can’t because I live in a country with no Amazon ( and I have never ordered living in a country with Amazon as I never lived there ) and it doesn’t seem to matter that I can sell my own book through Amazon. I won’t give up 🙂 Good luck!

Ina – once the title goes up in Kindle you can download it anywhere with an internet connection.

Almost forgot. I should also mention that soon Peter’s book will be available through Ingram, which is a world wide distributor of print books. That means if your local bookseller is not wise enough to stock it, you will be able to order it and suggest he stock it!

**** NOTE TO THOSE BUYING ON KINDLE: If you go to your Amazon home site and log in, update your country selection, you should be able to purchase this anywhere. Sometimes, if the field there is left blank, you will be unable to download anything to your Kindle app.. Also, you can change the country if it is not working for you. I had to update this for a friend just the other day, and now her Kindle is working great for both UK and US purchases. **** Btw, well done, Peter! Keep the good stuff coming – we love it! As an American, I totally get self-promotion – but honestly, don’t worry yourself about it. If you don’t let us know, how CAN we know???

Peter has asked me to step forward and identify myself. I am Victoria Adams, the Business Director at the publisher that captured him and his wonderful talent. We are as excited as he is to see this title reach the market. I personally am sure it is the start of a long and fruitful association!

Ah, your honesty is refreshing! The title of your book is thought-provoking enough without even having to read the book’s description. I look forward to checking it out!

I tweeted this with a comment on your writing. That’s right–you’ll have to wonder what I said–oh never mind. It was all good.
Is it only for sale with pounds? I bought something that way once and the conversion on my credit card cost more than the book! I’m sure you’ll be in the US soon…

Remember, or perhaps I haven’t made it clear, that my publisher is American based in Albertville, Alabama so ordering through Amazon.com the book should arrive in a couple of days, unless you use Kindle of course, in which case its a couple of seconds, although I’m a book fan myself

Just to tell you, the price on the back of the book is in $ so couldn’t be more American come to think of it

Congratulations, Peter! It’s my first time here at your blog. I’ve bookmarked it, so you’ll definitely be seeing me here again. I think your ebook & paperback reviews will eventually sync up. I know mine did, & I didn’t do anything fancy to make it happen. Best wishes to you. I found you via Victoria Adam’s blog & will definitely swing by again soon. 🙂
